Dr. Bailey, a researcher at Family Health International, has worked in the field of maternal and newborn mortality reduction for more than 25 years. She has worked in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Her primary interests lie in conducting audits, using other methodologies to improve quality of care, and in monitoring and evaluation.

Vd. Smita Bajpai is a doctor of ayurveda and has been working with CHETNA for the last 20 years. She is a trainer, documentalist, reaseracher, and advocate for women's health. She has coordinated several programs on women's health and traditional medicine and is a board member of the TBA Assocation, Gujarat. She has been active in advocacy for maternal health and rights and is the state coordinator of SUMA.

Dr. Sushanta Banerjee has a Masters and PhD in Demography from the International Institute of Population Studies, Mumbai.

Dr. Huang Baofeng, Professor, Director, Center for Strategic Leadership Studies, Nanjing College for Population Program Management. He has focused on RH/FP strategic leadership study, advocacy, communication, and dissemination in China for more than 10 years.

Linda Bartlett, MD, MHSc; Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Maternal and Child Health Integrated Project (MCHIP) Country Management Team (CMT). Bartlett is a medical doctor and epidemiologist with over 25 years experience in maternal and perinatal health epidemiology and public health and program implementation both in developed and developing country settings. Her interests include assessments to improve quality of obstetric care in facilities and development of maternal mortality prevention interventions in communities.

Jiban K. Behera has been working with Society for Developmental Action for the last 15 years as Program Manager. He has experience with working on health issues, PRI, and NRHM. He has a degree in political science and law. 

Ben Bellows is an Associate at the Population Council in Nairobi and is the project manager for a multi-country evaluation of voucher programs in East Africa and South Asia. Previously, he has worked in South America and Africa working with the US Peace Corps, US Centers for Disease Control, the University of California at Berkeley, and Venture Strategies for Health and Development.

Dr. Cynthia Berg is a senior maternal health scientist in the Division of Reproductive Health at the U.S. Centers for Disase Control and Prevention (CDC). She is trained as an obstetrician-gynecologist and epidemiologist and has worked extensively in the areas of maternal morality and morbidity surveillance and research.

Stan Bernstein is a Senior Policy Advisor in the Technical Division of UNFPA. He has been active in international policy processes and partnerships related to reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health. He contributed to the Delhi Declaration (2005), the Maputo Plan of Action, the MDGs and other maternal health initiatives. He worked for 2 years (2004-2006) at the UN Millennium Project.

Dr. Zulfiqar A. Bhutta is the Husein Laljee Dewraj Professor and Chairman, Department of Pediatrics and Child Health, Aga Khan University Medical Center, Karachi, Pakistan, and adjunct professor in International Health and Family and Community at the department of International Health at Boston University and Tufts University (Boston).

Dr. Bijalwan has a Masters in International Health Management and Development from the University of Birmingham, UK. Since September 2008, he has been Vice President of the Global Education and Health Forum. He has worked on multiple research studies, some of which have been published. His primary interests lie in the areas of public health, institutional development, and health policy planning.

Dr. Mallika Mitra Biswas is the Director of Programs at Pathfinder International. Her core competencies include technical design of FP projects, evaluation studies and surveys, operations research, and project management. She has more than 13 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supervising a portfolio of projects in family planning, STI/HIV and access to safe abortion in several states of India. Dr. Biswas has a PhD in Economic History of India.

Dr. Bitar specializes in scaling-up best practices in the AME region, and she provides focused technical assistance and monitoring and evaluation for several AME countries in their efforts to scale-up best practices. She is a medical doctor with a Masters in Public Health and has over 20 years of experience in management, design, and implementation of population and family health programs.

Kelly Blanchard has both a Master of Science in Population and International Health and a Bachelor in Social Studies from Harvard. Her most recent research has focused on contraception, medical and surgical abortion, microbicides, and cervical barriers for HIV/STI prevention. Kelly received the 2009 Darroch award for excellence in sexual and reproductive health research.

Anjali is currently working with the Indian Institute of Public Health, Delhi, as a Senior Lecturer. Her areas of interest are strengthening health policies focusing on health inequality and bridging policy gaps through operations research and advocacy.

Hillary Bracken is a Senior Program Associate at Gynuity Health Projects. Before joining Gynuity, she was a Staff Program Associate at the Population Council, where she was involved with clinical studies of mifepristone medical abortion and social science research related to abortion. Ms. Bracken was also a Peace Corps volunteer in Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa.
