He is a well recognized expert of Operations Research and has carried out large numbers of studies in the area of maternal mortality, FP, SRH and GBV. He has been a member of various Steering Committees of WHO Geneva.

Amanullah Khan, Deputy Country Director of Health and Nutrition and Program Manager of Saving Newborn Lives/Save the Children US, is a Pakistani citizen based in Islamabad. He initially trained as medical doctor in Pakistan, and then moved into public health and health system research after doing his Masters in Public Health in the United Kingdom in 1996. He is an experienced and skilled public health professional and provides leadership to all health sector programs of Save the Children including Saving Newborn Lives in Pakistan. He has been extensively involved in health sector reforms while working for the Ministry of Health in Pakistan. He has been instrumental in scaling up MNCH/FP best practices in Pakistan. He is Secretary General of White Ribbon Alliance Pakistan and has established Advocacy and Advisory Network for Newborns in Pakistan.

Asia, serves as Technical Director for the A2Z Micronutrient Project, and teaches at JHU.

Anant Kumar launched a pilot LifeSpring Hospital within HLL Lifecare Ltd. in December 2005. Responding to the success of this model of low-cost, high-quality hospitals for women with low incomes, LifeSpring Hospitals launched its own separate private company with equity participation from HLL Lifecare Ltd. and the Acumen Fund in February of 2008. Within one year, the LifeSpring Hospitals network became the largest private maternity hospital network in South India and now aspires to become one of the largest in the world. LifeSpring Hospitals center their efforts on providing women with low incomes safe and affordable maternal care. Anant received his BA from Delhi University and has post-graduate diplomas in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management and in Healthcare and Hospital Management from the Symbiosis University. Anant is also a TED India Fellow.

He holds an associate faculty position at Johns Hopkins University and serves on several technical advisory boards. His research involves developing and evaluating innovative models for improving maternal and newborn survival in low-resource settings.

Previously, she was a consultant for the Tanzanian Ministry of Health designing capacity building for the management staff. She is currently studying for a PhD at Leeds University.
