Laerdal, Tore

Tore Laerdal is Executive Director of the Laerdal Foundation for Acute Medicine, which has earmarked 50% of its grants in the next years to support MDG4 and MDG5 projects. Mr. Laerdal is also Chairman of the Board of Laerdal Medical, a family-owned company that for 50 years has been a leading supplier of training material and therapeutic equipment for resuscitation.

Geeta Lal is a Technical Specialist with the United Nations Population Fund and is currently the Global Program Coordinator for the joint UNFPA/ICM Investing in Midwives Program.

Landry, Evelyn

Evelyn Landry is the Deputy Director of Fistula Care, a USAID-funded project managed by EngenderHealth. Ms. Landry oversees the monitoring, evaluation, and research activities of the project. Prior to joining the Fistula Care Project, Ms. Landry held the position of Regional Director Asia/Near East at EngenderHealth and was responsible for program activities and field operations in nine Asian countries. Ms. Landry has extensive experience in research, monitoring, and evaluation. She holds an MPH from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

Lathrop, Eva

Dr. Lathrop is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University, School of Medicine, in the division of Family Planning.  She has an MD from the University of Vermont and an MPH from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. She has been involved in projects in Haiti for many years.

LeFevre , Amnesty

Amnesty LeFevre, PhD, MHS, specializes in evaluation and economic evaluation of maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) programs in low resource settings. She has worked extensively throughout Asia and Africa to determine the effectiveness, cost effectiveness, and equity of large-scale community based MNCH packages of interventions. 

Lefevre-Cholay, Helene

Helene Lefevre-Cholay has more than 40 years of tremendous experience working in the area of maternal and child health. Lefevre-Cholay worked in many parts of the world including China and African and Middle Eastern countries. She is the Director of the MCH Project in the Ukraine since 2003. Lefevre-Cholay advocates for the implementation of evidence-based effective perinatal technologies.

Wassie Lingerh, doctor of medicine; worked in a government institution as a clinician and handled emergencies related to obstetrics and surgery; worked as a public health expert at zonal health department and at Columbia University ICAP for its ART program in Ethiopia; currently working in JSI Ethiopia for its program in IFHP.

Longombe, Ahuka Ona

Dr. Longombe is a Professor of Surgery and has a medical doctor diploma from the University of Kinshasa. He completed his residency in surgery and a PhD in 1994 from the University of Kisangani. He holds a masters in Health Professional Education.

Kelsey Lynd is a Clinical Research Coordinator at Stanford University. She received her BA from the University of Mary Washington in Virginia and her MPH from Tulane University. After her studies she spent five years in Madagascar working in the field of family planning. She moved to the Bay Area and started working for Stanford’s Family Planning Services and Research Section in the spring of 2008.
