Edoja Okpokunu was born into the Okpokunu Onoyake family of Odorubu-Ughelli in the Delta State of Nigeria. He was educated at several institutions which include the University of Benin, Benin City in Nigeria, and the Université du Bénin in Lomé, Republic of Togo, from 1976 to 1990. Mr. Okpokunu has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Sociology and Anthropology and an Masters of Arts in French.

Dr. Omoni is an editor for two scientific journals: The African Journal of Midwifery and Women’s Health and the Journal of Sexuality and Health. Currently, Dr. Omoni is the chair person for AMRN (Africa Midwives Research Network-Kenyan Chapter).

Dr. Armando Ahued Ortega is the Minister of Health of Mexico City and is a member of prestigious academic and professional boards. Dr. Ahued has a Masters in Public Health.
