Dr. Prata is an Angolan public health physician and medical demographer with more than 15 years experience working in maternal and child health programs in low resource settings who has worked throughout Africa and Asia. She is an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Maternal and Child Health, School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley and serves as the Scientific Director for the Bixby Center for Population, Health and Sustainability and as the Medical Director for Venture Strategies Innovations. Dr. Prata’s expertise and passion is in the design and implementation of maternal health programs for low resource settings, using existing health care infrastructure and human capacity.
