Meschery, Matthew

Matthew Meschery is the Director of Digital Initiatives at the Independent Television Service (ITVS) where he oversees the development of new media content as well as a broad range of digital activities. Matthew has played a key role for ITVS in online distribution, digital infrastructure development, social media strategy, and website production. Recent work includes overseeing an internal initiative to support independent filmmakers creating original online content as well as new media extensions of their documentary films that are broadcast on public television in the U.S. Such projects include The FutureStates web series and iPhone app prototype, The Returning Home Project, When I Walk video blog, and Garbage Dreams - The Game. Prior to ITVS, Matthew served as the Program Manager for Music Education at the Bay Area Video Coalition. There he founded the Bay Unity Music Project (BUMP), which provides a training ground and launch pad for young artists from underserved communities. He also writes and produces music, and serves as adjunct faculty at San Francisco State University, where he teaches digital music production.
